In this issue:
We were recently asked "... there are so many fair trade web site shops these days, how can I trust adila, is what it says it is?" We liked being asked, because it gave us a chance to say what WE know and maybe YOU don't?
We personally source and purchase all adila products directly from the producer, we NEVER buy from other suppliers. This way we know first hand who, where and how, your wrap? earrings? bag? were produced. We're not a FACELESS web site, various pages (blog, our designers, sponsored project, newsletters and press) INVOLVE you in your purchase. We all have names and roles, both the UK team and the SA producers. If you have a question? you can ask the ACTUAL person who knows the answer. This is how you can be SURE we are fair trade and eco-friendly, and this is a reminder of the UK team ...
John (web wizard) just back from Boston, where he learnt he is actually pretty good at web site design. Louisa (buyer) flew in from South Africa, then left for the USA. David, best dressed (designer) in the world, returned from Cyprus, fresh and pressed of course! Paul in (packing) who moonlights as something BIG in the environment world? ...is not at his packing bench again! Julie (marketing/product development) had a great time in Naples, Andrew (photographer/philosopher) is in Spain, planning his retirement amongst the olive groves.
Conventional group? no, but then adila's not about old ways of working, it's people and technology combined, and it works really well!

handmade packaging creates employment ...
How many glossy magazines have you tossed in the recycle bin? but with a little bit of imagination and a lot of skill, they can be given a second life.
Our new packaging/gift boxes do a lot more than make unwrapping your purchase that little bit special. It also means that the Kunye project have been able to employ a new craft person.
Phindiwe joined the team this year and works together with Bronwyn creating gorgeous, functional, works of art.
