our policy
our producers ...
We pay all adila producers fair prices for the products we buy.
We strive to source adila products that use (and perpetuate) traditional skills and local materials.
We seek to work with small producers, especially those that provide employment and support for communities or groups disadvantaged by poverty, disease, or violence.
We do not work with producers who employ children, or forced labour of any kind.
We do not work with producers who discriminate on the basis of race, gender or faith.
We work only with producers who provide safe, healthy and humane working conditions for their employees.
We encourage our producers to be socially responsible and to publish a social policy that is at least as strong as our own.

We visit the premises of all adila producers and prospective producers, to observe all aspects of the operation at first hand.
We encourage our producers to be environmentally and socially responsible and to publish environmental and social policies that are at least as strong as out own.
Non fair-trade products ...
Where adila occasionally offers products that are not themselves fair-trade, 10% of adila profit is set aside for projects that support groups or communities disadvantaged by violence, poverty or disease in South Africa.
Any such products are clearly identified in all promotional material, and the beneficiary projects clearly described.
There is currently only one such set of products in the adila range, a series of original artworks by Dutch artist Altaf Kramer. 10% of any adila profit from the sale of his work will go to Miqlat in Paarl, South Africa.
